Silver Birch Trunks

Oil-pastel on 140lb cold-pressed watercolour paper. A new venture with both Sennelier and Caran d'Ache oilpastels. I am exploring one of my favourite subjects---trees. This work is created on watercolour paper that has been painted with a starting-ground of dark red and black gouache paint. The oilpastel has been worked on top, creating a subtle dark green backdrop for the stark shapes of the silver birch.


Should be framed under glass and a mountboard, like any other work on paper.
